Network
to Print |
 |
Everyone in the
office uses a computer to print out a document from a
printer on the network. This is something very common
today, but it wasn't so at the time when the personal
computer was used as a stand-alone device. Coupled with
basic network architecture silex's networking technology
made network printing possible from an independent PC.

|
 |
silex software
technology translates the communication protocol, which
is different depending on the computer translating the
protocol, to suit each individual computing system to
transfer information. silex technology furthered the possibility
of networking equipment, creating a more convenient and
enjoyable network user environment.
There are numerous means of communication available today
as society becomes more information oriented. The need
for equipment to be on the network is not only for offices
alone but it is expanding rapidly into home environment.
What is important today is to have the knowledge and ability
to connect information with equipment and users, and to
provide the network infrastructure that is convenient
to install with user-friendly software. |

The
know-how |
 |
Computers use communication
protocols (structure) for data transmission and reception.
Computer manufacturers and users often use a different
network operating system (NOS) specific to their requirements.
For example, to use a printer on the network, it is necessary
to analyze only the print data sent using different communication
protocols, and to extract the data targeted to the printer
to pass to the printer. This sophisticated interface between
a device and the network is the core technology of the
multi-protocol print server, and it is the culmination
of silex's networking technology. |

For more than a
decade silex has worked in cooperation with top global
printer manufacturers, accepting the responsibility for
development of our partners' network interface by developing
and manufacturing print servers. The development of print
severs requires sophisticated network technology and know-how.
silex's well-established technology makes the development
and manufacturing efficient, reliable, economical and
fast. Thus silex's proven partnerships with many companies
have allowed silex to earn a high reputation and world
class OEMs have given silex their trust for networking
technology in the industry. As a strategic partner in
our customer's product development silex provides technology,
methodology and marketing content during the design phase
of incorporating networking solutions for printers.
Achieving technical expertise across a broad range of
customers and products has enabled silex to grow and become
the #1 OEM printer connectivity technology provider in
Asia, and a leading product supplier for print servers
within the Japanese domestic market.
The leadership is now expanding across the globe to have
a variety of unique products available in the international
markets. The product examples include the H-260U
internal print servers, specifically designed for HP EIO
LaserJet / Business Jet printers, and the C-6200U
USB print servers, developed in association with Canon
for their Multifunction and laser/inkjet printers. |
